Visit
Patients receive a comprehensive eye
examination. We measure your visual acuity, determine the power
of your current glasses, measure your refractive error,
examine your pupils, determine if your eye muscles are
functioning properly, measure your eye pressure and look at
the front and back of your eye with special instruments.
Adults may need to have someone drive them home since pupil
dilation will blur vision for 3 to 5 hours. Children may
continue to have dilated pupils for a day or more after
examination. Allow about 2 to 3 hours for this
appointment.
Please bring your spectacles, contact lenses and eye
medications to each appointment. Bring any important
records of prior eye examinations, particular surgical reports
and CT or MRI films. We prefer to perform our own
interpretation of most scans of the eye and head.
