The University Ophthalmology Associates offers a walk-in emergency service Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 10:30 am as well as Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm. At all other times, emergencies are handled through the hospital’s main emergency room (Emergency Medicine Center on the “B” Level of the hospital, Room BE-324 CHS, 310-825-2111).

• The emergency walk-in service is provided to manage urgent and emergent eye problems only. If your problem is not urgent or emergent, please make a scheduled appointment. We will make every effort to schedule your appointment in a timely fashion.

• Routine ophthalmologic care, including refraction for eyeglasses, will not be provided with this visit. If you require a new eyeglass prescription, please schedule a regular appointment by calling (310) 825-3090.

• You will be receiving a bill for the services provided through the emergency walk-in service.  If you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage, please feel free to discuss this with our staff prior to your visit.
